Dog’s love to snuggle and take up room on the couch. At least, I know that my dog does!
She even gets sassy if we try to make her get up, huffing and puffing as she lays down on the floor instead.
That’s why I decided to get her a dog sofa bed of her own, that way she didn’t feel like she had to take up room on our couch and she still has a comfortable place to lay down and be with the family.

Sometimes when our canine companions get older, it can be more difficult to get off of a bed that is on the floor and jumping up onto our furniture is also difficult and hard on their joints.

So many things to wonder before pulling the trigger and purchasing an expensive sofa for your dog.
Why should I get a sofa bed over a regular bed?
This is an excellent question. I like to suggest that owners purchase elevated beds, such as sofa beds for dogs that are older or breeds that are prone to orthopedic or back issues.
These beds are a few inches off the ground for your dog to easily get up, instead of having to hoist themselves up.
This is easier on their joints and bodies.
Also providing them with a space of their own that isn’t as tall as your own couch or bed is much easier for them to get to.
No more worries about them injuring their backs or legs getting onto the human couch anymore.
What size should I purchase for my dog?
Always assume that you should go up a size, or read the reviews thoroughly to see if there are any size comparisons with other people’s dogs.
I think that defaulting to going a size bigger than you assume necessary to be better practice.
I would be really sad if I got the bed out of the box and realized that it was way too small.
Not to mention trying to package it back up and return it would be a pain.
What material should the sofa bed be made of?
That is honestly about personal preference.
I base a lot of what I purchase on how easily I think it will be to clean up.
I find that having a removable cover for the main cushion is a must and the material should be one that is easy to spot clean if it can’t be taken off and washed.
